Today is the final day of International Presbytery meetings in advance of our Assembly in Greensboro, North Carolina. This group of 110 bishops gathers like this prior to the International Assemblies, and when called together for any emergency situation. This meeting was our regular one, and we conducted quite a bit of business as the Presiding Bishops of Tennessee. Among the decisions made by this group were: 1. The selection of a General Presbyter for South America 2. The selection of a General Presbyter for Central America 3. The selection of a General Presbyter for the Caribbean 4. Affirmation of the General Presbyter for Africa 5. Affirmation of the General Presbyter for Asia 6. Affirmation of the General Presbyter for Europe, CIS and the Middle East 7. Presentation of the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary Consortium 8. Presentation of the Tomlinson Center Educational Initiative 9. The Administrative Committee committed the new Vision 2020 initiative to be implemented

As I write, we are in the third day of International Presbytery Meetings at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. These meetings always precede the gathering of delegates to the International Assembly of the Church of God of Prophecy, and is attended by all presiding bishops and select staff from the International offices. Each session has been filled with prayer and search for direction from the Lord. Yesterday, I was privileged to give a portion of the new "mission, vision and core values" presentation to our International leaders. I am also looking forward to sharing this with the entire International Assembly later this week. I will be sharing on this blog the components of the new Core Value intensification in future posts. I hope you will check back and catch this great vision the Lord has been sharing with us for the past four years as we continue "turning to the harvest."

This morning we began meetings of the International Presbytery preparing for the International Assembly in Greensboro, North Carolina. This group of nearly 100 presiding bishops of states and nations gathers in advance of the assembly to update and discuss polity issues affecting our global efforts. People have began to arrive at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, North Carolina for the pre-assembly meetings. There is a certain sense of excitement as old friends from different continents see each other for the first time in two years. We are looking forward to the assembly, expecting the Lord to pour His blessings out in a very special way. I am pleased to announce the appointment of Pastor Jerry Robbins to the church at Sunbright, Tennessee. Until recently, Pastor Robbins had been serving the church at Dyersburg, Tennessee. Pastor Robbins will assume the pastoral appointment on August 1, 2010. Pastor Jack Lawson has faithfully served at the Sunbright church and will be missed. He is taking a leave of absence for family health reasons.

From Kim Batson, Tennessee Childrens Ministries Director I wanted to let you know that I will be having 2 Children's Ministry trainings in August. August 21st: Empowered Ministries in Dickson, Tennessee August 28th: Crab Orchard in Crossville, Tennessee It will be from 9am to 3pm. I will charge $15 per participant or $10 each for teams of 3 or more. Any church that doesn't have a current children's ministry, can attend at no charge. I plan to teach these trainings and am asking a local children's minister from the area to assist me. Margaret Bryant from Family Worship Center will be assisting me in the above trainings. I wanted to ensure the above dates were Ok with you. I plan to schedule one in West Tennessee and another around the Cleveland area later on. If so, I will get you information to put on the blog. As many of you know, Pastor Tim and Sheena McCaleb have announced their attention to accept a new assignment. Pastor McCaleb will be assisting in mission projects in the nation of Haiti, under the direction of the Global Outreach department. Special thanks to the McCaleb family for their eleven years of ministry at Roberts Tabernacle. Effective August 1, 2010, Pastor Gary And Peggy Clements will be accepting the pastoral assignment at Roberts Tabernacle. Special thanks to the Clements family for their ministry to the Columbia church for then past three years. Today, I was privileged to officiate the wedding ceremony for Pastor Jerry Robbins (Dyersburg) and Rachel Smith at the Peerless Road Church. Jerry and Rachel met at our Youth Camp last year when they were both working in the kitchen. We are so happy for them. -- Post From My iPad

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma D. Ray Bane are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Buford Bane and Bro. David Haun officiating. Interment will follow at the Prosperity Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 10 AM - 2 PM at Ligon & Bobo. Mrs. Bane, age 81 of Lebanon passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at the University Medical Center. Born September 30, 1928, in Smith County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Lena Croslin Ray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Watertown Church of God of Prophecy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Janie Warren, Betty Jo Wilson, Faye Bowman, and Evelyn Dies, and a brother, Jim Ray. She is survived by her husband of sixty three years, Dewey C. Bane; two children, William Dewey (Teresa) Bane of Lavergne and Mary Alice McCaleb of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, William Ryan Bane, Elizabeth C. Bane, Andrew S. McCaleb, and Laura A. Mc

Delegate Parking at the Coliseum Parking at the Greensboro Coliseum is $7.00 per day with in/out privileges. Assembly Delegates will be parking in the Main Lot of the Coliseum. Payment must be made at the parking lot entrance in cash only. Once you have paid for parking once, you may purchase a parking pass for the remainder of the Assembly. Assembly passes will be sold as follows: a. Purchased on Tuesday - $35.00 b. Purchased on Wednesday - $28.00 c. Purchased on Thursday - $21.00 d. Purchased on Friday - $14.00 e.
