More Assembly Information - Parking

Almost as soon as the announcement was made that the General Assembly would be in Nashville, the talk seemed to be that there would be insufficient parking. Having lived in the Nashville area for a total of ten years (8 in Columbia and 2 in Hendersonville) I too had some concerns about this. Since information seems to help, I am posting some of my observations today concerning the General Assembly.

I have been to the Gaylord Entertainment Center several times for events ranging from Arena Football games, to Concerts and Promisekeepers Events. I have also been to Tennessee Titan's events twice at the LP Arena.I have always been able to find parking within a block or two of the venue, with the exception of the Titan's game, where I rode a bus from north of town once and parked with friends the other time at a private corporate law office lot.

Since I learned that I would be serving on the task force for the General Assembly, I have taken the liberty to check into the parking again and have found that while it will take some time to check around, there is ample parking available.

I will also tell you that there is an online map that you can go to by clicking here or go to the site at www.parkitdowntown.com

If this is something stressing you out, please check out the above website or send me an email. I'll be happy to do what I can to help. God bless.

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Come Down From That Ivory Tower

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He...

Death Notice - Clara McMahan

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
