District Fellowship - District Presbyter Gary Riley

Dear Fellow Pastors and Ministers,

Thank you for the wonderful response to our bi-district fellowship service! What a wonderful spirit of worship and fellowship that was felt. Thank you for boosting this in your local churches and thank you for your friendship and support in our districts.

It was so good to see representatives from 13 churches with 222 people from these churches coming together to worship the Lord and to fellowship with one another. That is one part of the beauty of the Body of Christ.

Thank you again for the generous love offering of $830.00 that was given to help Bro. James Mackens who is still recovering from surgery and the congregation at Cumberland Furnace. May God richly bless everyone of you for your generosity.

Special thanks to Bro. Terry Bear for the timely and anointed message he brought forth last night. And to all the singers and musicans that blessed our people. Thank you Burns youth dept. for a fine drama presentation that blessed all the people. Keep up the good work.

I sincerely appreciate everyone of you and I pray for our Heavenly Father to send blessings upon top of blessings to you, your families, and to each congregation as we press onward into this last day's harvest. May God send the "Spirit of Revival" to everyone of our churches as we look to God for direction and inspiration for the work we are called to do.

Thank you again for your continued support!

For the cause of Christ,
Bro. Gary Riley, area presbyter

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He...

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Raising your Leadership GPA

Please note the upcoming seminar taught by Pastor Gary Lanley from Hawaii. Here is his description of the seminar: "Leadership Training Seminar The weekend before the General Assembly, Bishop Gary Langley, Pastor of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Windward Worship Center, will be teaching a 3-session leadership training seminar at Sonbright Christian Center, hosted by Pastor R.C. (Chip) Meadows. A lot of the materials I use are from some intensive training I received from Don Cousins.
