Update - Isaac Tinch

This evening, I spoke with Charles Tinch, Isaac's father. He told me that Isaac had been life-flighted to Vanderbilt last night, and has had some bleeding that was unexpected and caused some changes in Isaac's condition. As of this evening, Charles is reporting his son's condition is better, and that he will be undergoing more testing in the morning and possibly some more surgery, depending on what the tests show. Please continue to pray for Isaac and his family...your prayers are appreciated so much by the family.

Please continue to pray

I just learned a little-while-ago that Isaac Tinch was taken back to Vanderbilt last night by life-flight. I don't have all the details right now, but will post them when received. I have tried to touch base with the family, but attempts are unsuccessful as of 12:50 p.m., August 30, 2010. Please join me in prayer for this very special need. I know that God is able.

Update on Isaac Tinch

On August 14, 2010 I sent out a special prayer request for Isaac Tinch, whose family are members of our church at Rickman, Tennessee. The prognosis was grave as he was life-flighted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to be treated for severe blunt-force trauma to his head. The situation was grave and the doctors, nurses and technicians work around the clock to treat him. Their efforts were heroic as usual...yet, the prayers of the saints went up from around the world. Today, I visited with Isaac and his family and learned of his pending release. Tomorrow is his birthday, and it appears he will be able to spend it with his family at home. I watched as he walked, talked and interacted with his family and the staff. As I anointed him with oil and prayed for him, he smiled and seems to be on his way to a total recovery. His parents are so thrilled, as are we. Thank you to all of those who prayed for Isaac, and I ask that you continue to pray. We are part of a wonderful family!

Update on Isaac Tinch

This is a follow up post to my prayer request yesterday. I spoke with Isaac's father this afternoon and learned that Isaac is still in critical condition. The doctors are doing their best, but we need the Lord to intervene. Also, I leaned that Isaac's grandfather has been hospitalized as well. This is a family from our Rickman church and I know that they appreciate your prayers and concerns.

Special Prayer Request

I received a phone call concerning a very special need. Isaac Tinch, 8-years-old from the Rickman, Tennessee Church of God of Prophecy was injured yesterday and rushed to Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Isaac underwent surgery to reduce swelling in his brain, and this morning suffered a setback. I spoke with his aunt Dana and his father Charles just a few minutes ago, and received permission from the family to make this request known. I also know there is a large number of people who read this blog and Facebook who believe in the healing power of the Lord. We appreciate your prayers for Isaac and his family. -- Post From My iPad

Haiti Trips - A message from Tim McCaleb

A MESSAGE FROM COORDINATOR August 10, 2010 Dear Friends of Haiti, We had a great Assembly and I met many wonderful people who are interested in helping rebuild our churches and orphanage in Haiti. In fact, I am receiving calls almost daily from those wanting to go on a work trip. Following is a current list for upcoming work trips. Please note that due to increased interest, I am adding a second opportunity in January. September 18-25 November 6-13 January 8-15 January 15-22 February 26- March 5 April 2-9 May 14-21 In addition, Ted Cooper, Bob Vital-Herne, and I are traveling to Haiti this Saturday (August 14 -20) to purchase tools and supplies and to take care of any other necessary business. We will also be selecting our first project for September and will be visiting the orphanage property. Please pray that while on this trip, we will be able to accomplish all that is needed. A total of six men have committed for the Septe

Core Value Two - Harvest

"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, "The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." (Matthew 9:36-38) The second core value of the Church of God of Prophecy is, "harvest." Jesus looked out across the multitudes around him and was moved with the compassion he had for them. They were lost and were wandering aimlessly through life without clear guidance. They had become pawns to the religious leaders, just numbers and impersonal objects to support their pride and lifestyle, they needed someone to give them direction. Upon noticing this scene unfolding in front of Him, Jesus pointed out to his followers that there is a great harvest surrounding them (and us) that must be gathered. It was not something symbol

Columbia Visit

Today Debra and I were privileged to minister at the local church in Columbia, Tennessee. As always, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the folks at the church. As many of you may know, we served in the pastoral role there for eight years in the 1990's.

Prayer is our first core value

"And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord." (Genesis 4:26) How often do you think about prayer? Better yet, how often do you practice it? Its hard to believe it, but there was a time when people did not call on the Lord. Growing up in a home with a praying mother, its something that wouldn't cross my mind. Yet, there was such a time. The challenge for you and me is that we don't become a prayerless generation. It has been rightly said, "no man will ever speak FOR God, when he hasn't spoken TO God." The truth is, that there is a universal need for prayer in the day we live. Our world is in chaos, and the for the most part many of the churches have become dry havens for religious practice with no rain of the Holy Spirit power. The Psalmist wrote, "O thou that hearest prayer, unto to thee shall all flesh come." (Psalm 65:2) We are creatures who were mad

Core Values

Returning from the International Assembly we are overwhelmed with the sense that God has visited with us, and has given clear direction for the future of our movement. With the introduction of Vision 2020, we are moving forward emphasizing the following three core values: Prayer Harvest Leadership Development As this emphasis is reiterated, we will see this CORE VALUE thrust in every ministry of the State of Tennessee, and in our local churches and related ministries. I will be releasing more information as we proceed further, so I ask you to check back daily on our blog, and I encourage you to join me on this journey!

Finally home again...

Just a little-while-ago, Debra and I returned from the International Assembly of the Church of God of Prophecy in Greensboro, North Carolina. We have been gone from home for three weeks attending pre-assembly meetings, International Presbytery meetings and finally the assembly. Our hearts rejoice as we remember the wonderful way the Holy Spirit moved doing the meetings of the International Presbytery and the International Assembly itself. Delegates gathered from over 120 nations of the world to rejoice in the Presence of the Lord and seek direction for this movement we are a part of. We came away with a renewed sense of vision and purpose and are grateful for the knowledge that the Lord Himself has a destiny for us, and that you and I can share together in it. In the meeting of the International Presbytery (110 presiding bishops) three new General Presbyters were selected to serve the church: Caribbean (Clayton Martin) Central America (Benjamin Feliz) South America (Gabriel Vidal) (

Another appointment is pending for Pastor Batson. -- Post From My iPad

International Assembly is history

This afternoon, the International Assembly officially closed with the striking of the General Overseer's gavel. It was an amazing week of anointed preaching, teaching and worship. Thousands gathered from around the world in Greensboro, North Carolina to participate in a defining moment in this Movement of God called the Church of God of Prophecy. From the International Presbytery meetings which convened the week before to the closing session the Holy Spirit moved among us freely. My family and I are so thankful to be able to continue our service in the State of Tennessee among such wonderful people. Together, we will reach implement the core values of prayer, harvest and leadership development across this Volunteer State.
