Ladies Training Conference - Paris, TN

West Tennessee's First Women's Leadership Conference was held last Saturday, October 27th at the local Church of God of Prophecy in Paris. Seventy-two ladies came from area churches with anticipation in their hearts. It was a power-packed day, full of fun, fellowship, laughter, learning, worship, tears, and rejoicing.

Hostess, Joann Winchester, began the day with a special devotional assisted by the Praise Team from the local church. The Women of Grace Advisory Council consisting of Kim Batson, Michelle Brooks-Young, Jill Mandrell, and Londa Richardson team taught throughout the day on various essentials of leadership. Debra McKinley shared on the "Value/Worth of a Woman".

Pastor Cliff Winchester served as Chef for the day (assisted by his wife's expertise). Local ladies provided a variety of delicious desserts. Fellowship was sweet and delightful. We appreciate the opportunity to use the beautiful facilities at Paris.

Saturday afternoon, there was an out-pouring of the Holy Spirit and women rejoiced over the sanctuary being liberated from past hurts. The anointing of God broke the yoke of bondage for many!

It was a glorious day and we give God praise! One lady new to the Church of God of Prophecy shared, "I have never felt so hugged in all my life. This is wonderful. I can't wait until next year!"

To all who attended and supported this day, we (the Women of Grace Advisory Council) say, THANK YOU and God bless each one! May God help us to put into practice all we have shared this month regarding essentials of leadership.

Come Down From That Ivory Tower

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He
