Bishop Weakley Visitation Services

Tonight there was a very large turnout for the visitation services for Bishop Eugene Weakley. People traveled long distances to spend just a few minutes with the Weakley family to show their love, honor and respect. I am so thankful that Bishop Weakley looked past my multiple flaws and spend time "pouring" into me his years of experience and wisdom. I am a better man because he touched my life. Many of you may not know this but let me share a little something with you tonight. I am agonizing over the sermon I will deliver tomorrow to honor Bishop Weakley. I fear that i will not be able to do justice to the giant of a man that he was. Don't get me wrong, I DO believe I have a "word" from the Lord, but I know it comes through the frailty of a human being. In January 1989, my father, Rev. James T. McKinley was suddenly called home to heaven. Although he had suffered heart failure, his death was still quite unexpected. Only a short-time later my mother Genev...

Special Prayer Requests

This morning I met with Sister Wonnie Weakley, Jeff and Regina Cassidy to begin preparation for the visitation and funeral services for Bishop Eugene Weakley. You will see the arrangements in an earlier post. After that meeting, I went to St. Thomas hospital in Nashville and prayed with Sister Darlene Bagley, a retired minister's wife and with Sister Billie Hill, wife of Burns pastor, Tony Hill. I then traveled to Centennial Hospital to visit Pastor Bary Ray (Rickman). Just as I was going up the elevator to his room, I received a call from Pastor Ray that he had been released and was on his way home. I then made the short trip over to Vanderbilt Hospital where I visited with Bill Stockham, International Prayer Coordinator and had prayer for him. Then on to Lebanon for a meeting with the church. I just returned home a few-minutes-ago and thought I would make a quick post to share these special prayer requests with you and learned that retired minister, Bishop Esque Green passed a...

Glad to be back home

Last night I arrived at Nashville International airport after ministering at the Republic of Panama National Convention. The Lord moved in a powerful way among us and I was thrilled to see such a revival among the young people of the nation. This is now the third place that I have seen such a power move of the Holy Spirit. I saw the same think in Kiev, Ukraine, Buenos Aries, Argentina and now Panama City, Panama. I long to see this move of the Spirit in the United States, but I feel it is about to happen. God is faithful and He wants to pour His Spirit out, but we must be willing to receive it. Upon my arrive, my wife Debra and my daughter Lindsey met me at the airport and we traveled immediately to Murfreesboro to visit Bishop Eugene Weakley, the former overseer of Tennessee. He is gravely ill, but he perked up when I shared with him my experience in Panama. I have heard him say for years that he longs for revival. Please join me in prayer for Bishop Weakley and his family.

Update

The last few days have been extremely busy as we have continued to minister in Tennessee. On Sunday morning, I ministered at the Roberts Tabernacle church in Westmoreland. Immediately after the service, Debra and I traveled to Cleveland for our district meeting there. The Keith Street church was filled with worshipers and the Lord showed Himself strong. With meetings on Monday and Tuesday, the day was filled with activity, but again we are confident of the Lord's provision for all the needs. Today I participated in the Administrative Committee meetings and then on our way back to Hendersonville, we stopped at the Weakley's home in Murfreesboro to visit and pray for them. Bishop Weakley is extremely ill and needs our prayers right now. We are so thankful to work with such wonderful people.

Sunday Services

This morning, Debra and I traveled to the Roberts Tabernacle church to minister. There was a great crowd and the worship was excellent. The Lord helped us to understand "why hard times come our way." Immediately after the morning service, we left and traveled to the Keith Street Church in Cleveland, Tennessee for the District Leadership meeting. The house was full, even in the balconies and the Lord made His presence known in a powerful and rich way. Although the miles were long today and our bodies are physically worn out, we received supernatural strength for the journey. Thank you for your prayers as we continue this journey of ministry. We love you all.

Haiti update from Bishop McCaleb

Hello Everyone, Once again, I am happy to report an excellent mission trip to Haiti. I was accompanied by a group from the Cleveland, TN community (Gary and Pat Fuller, Dr. Jerry DeVane) one man from Indiana (Donny Garst), and one teenager from Washington State (Joshua Deare). One lady from Germany (Barbel Steffen) who was already there. Our main focus as a group was the orphanage, although I also visited several of the ongoing projects to check on their progress and status. While at the orphanage, I built a very large security gate that brought the orphanage wall to completion. Gary Fuller built shelves and cabinets and did other carpenter tasks. Dr. Jerry DeVane, who majored as an undergraduate in electrical engineering, did extensive work in wiring and plumbing. He also attended to the medical needs of the children and the community. Pat assisted all of us in various tasks and cooked wonderful meals. She also attended to the various needs of the children and staff. Donny ...

Multiple prayer needs

Yesterday, Debra and I traveled to Memphis to visit Brenda Prince who was seriously injured in a car accident last week. Initially she was taken to the Dyersburg hospital, then transported by helicopter to The MED in Memphis where she was in the trauma intensive care unit. Yesterday, she was moved to a step-down unit and is in a lot of pain. It was only the hand of the Lord that she is still alive tonight. This morning, we went to St. Jude's Medical Center (also in Memphis) to be with the family of Justin Tollett. Justin underwent surgery for a brain tumor. Justin and his family are from Crossville where is Grandfather Pastor Eddie Kilgore serves as pastor. There was a large group of supporters there and we continue to pray for Justin's recovery. We left Memphis and headed for the Chattanooga area where we arrived just a few-minutes ago. Vernetta Reid, the wife of Pastor Winston Reid (Wildwood Ave, Cleveland) will be undergoing heart surgery tomorrow at Erlanger hospital....
