Multiple prayer needs

Yesterday, Debra and I traveled to Memphis to visit Brenda Prince who was seriously injured in a car accident last week. Initially she was taken to the Dyersburg hospital, then transported by helicopter to The MED in Memphis where she was in the trauma intensive care unit. Yesterday, she was moved to a step-down unit and is in a lot of pain. It was only the hand of the Lord that she is still alive tonight.

This morning, we went to St. Jude's Medical Center (also in Memphis) to be with the family of Justin Tollett. Justin underwent surgery for a brain tumor. Justin and his family are from Crossville where is Grandfather Pastor Eddie Kilgore serves as pastor. There was a large group of supporters there and we continue to pray for Justin's recovery.

We left Memphis and headed for the Chattanooga area where we arrived just a few-minutes ago. Vernetta Reid, the wife of Pastor Winston Reid (Wildwood Ave, Cleveland) will be undergoing heart surgery tomorrow at Erlanger hospital. Vernetta is also the mother of International co-youth director Trevor Reid.

Also tomorrow, Pastor Geneva Carter of the Livingston church will be undergoing knee-replacement surgery at the Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was scheduled for last week but due to complications, could not have the surgery.

Also, we learned the Bishop Raymond M. Pruitt, former overseer and author of "Fundamentals of the Faith," passed away. Bishop Pruitt was a real blessing to me and so many others. I was ordained Bishop under his leadership in 1986. Please help me pray for his family, more information will be posted later.

Finally, I am serving as the interim pastor at the Roberts Tabernacle church in Westmoreland due to the sudden and unexpected passing of Pastor Gary Clements. I do appreciate your prayers

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Raising your Leadership GPA

Please note the upcoming seminar taught by Pastor Gary Lanley from Hawaii. Here is his description of the seminar: "Leadership Training Seminar The weekend before the General Assembly, Bishop Gary Langley, Pastor of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Windward Worship Center, will be teaching a 3-session leadership training seminar at Sonbright Christian Center, hosted by Pastor R.C. (Chip) Meadows. A lot of the materials I use are from some intensive training I received from Don Cousins. Come Down From That Ivory Tower

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He...
