New District Presbyter Appointment - Plateau Region

Earlier this year, Dr. Freddie Harding resined his position as District Presbyter of the Plateau Region after serving faithfully for almost 12 years.  The State of Tennessee has been blessed by the faithful service of both Dr. Harding and his wife Juanita.  

After much prayer and consideration, the Presiding Bishop and the District Presbyters have selected Bishop Terry Swaw to serve as the new District Presbyter.

Bishop Terry Swaw began his ministry in 1995 White Bluff Church of God of Prophecy now Crossroads Church, and served as District Youth Director under the leadership of Bishop Eugene Weakley.

Bishop Swaw received his first pastoral appointed to Waverly COGOP in September 2002 and West Nashville COGOP in 2005.

Bishop Terry Swaw, his wife Heather, their two children, Andrew and Sarah Grace reside in Crab Orchard, Tennessee where Bishop Swaw continues to serve as Sr. Pastor of the Crab Orchard COGOP since 2008. 

Terry was ordained a Bishop license on May 23, 2012 and currently he serves the Tennessee Church of God of Prophecy as a Tennessee S.O.P.A.S. Instructor, Camp Hickory Hills Committee member, and Tennessee COGOP Business Committee Member.

New Church Organized

It is always a tremendous thrill to announce the establishment of a new church. This post shares a little about our latest. On January 30, 2011 I met with the people of the Capilla De La Victoria (Victory Chapel) in Cleveland, Tennessee for the purpose of organizing and establishing what had been a mission work for well over two years. Previously, this group had met under the direction of Cliff Anderson in a part of the Peerless Road Complex. Pastor Tim Coalter (now State Presiding Bishop of South Carolina) shared with the congregation a vision of that local church planting two churches in the United States. We then joined in a partnership with the Tennessee State Office to share in the cost of rent and other needs for a period of two years. Since the inception of the idea, there were several changes.
