Happy Father's Day

As I write tonight, my wife Debra, our daughter Lindsey and I have stopped for the night on our way to minister at the Lakemoore Church in Morristown in the morning. We decided to drive a good part of the way tonight so that we could get some rest before the morning service.

We are looking forward to visiting with Pastor Robert Carpenter, his family, and the wonderful congregation there. Lakemoore is an exciting church and is prospering greatly as they are fully dedicated to the harvest. I will be bringing the morning message.

As you know, tomorrow is Father's Day, a day set aside for us to honor our fathers. Although my earthly father has gone on to his reward, there are many of you who still have the opportunity to let your dad know how much he means to you. Many has been the time that I have wished that I could just talk to dad for a minute or two, and let him know that he really knew much more than I gave him credit for.

As I approach the day when my son will become a father, I more fully realize how dad felt, thought, and perhaps I now understand him better, even though he has gone on to be with the Lord. I encourage you to take the time to contact your dad and let him know how much you love him.

If, like me, your father has already passed on, perhaps you can find a man who has been a "spiritual" father to you, and let him know of your respect and appreciation. Remember what Paul said, "Though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.(1 Co. 4:15)KJV

God bless you is my prayer.

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Death Notice - Clara McMahan

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
