As I write, it is late on Saturday night, and I've just returned from a trip to Cincinatti, Ohio. I left yesterday afternoon with the men's group from the Church of God of Prophecy in Columbia, Tennessee, a church that I served as pastor of for eight years during the 1990's.
I was so blessed to be with a lot of the men, some of whom came to the Lord while I was the pastor there, some who were already Christians that came to the church while I was the pastor, and the current pasotr, Dr. Philip Lawson.
We went to attend an evening game between the Cincinatti Reds and the Bilwaukee Brewers. Because of a heavy band of rain and thunderstorms, the game was delayed until 10:00 p.m., but the weather cleared up and it was an exciting finish! The Reds came from behind in the bottom of the ninth when Ken Griffey drove in the winning runs. It was really exciting! The game ended at about 1:20 p.m., and we didn't get to the hotel until 2:00 a.m. Finally to bed at 3:00 a.m., it was got to get some sleep.
Several of the men were up early to golf next door to the hotel, but I have to admit, I slept a little later than then.
This afternoon, we visited the Louisville slugger museum in Louisville (where Debra and I lived for three years in the 1970's) and enjoyed a nice trip back home to Tennessee.
Thanks to Chuck Bailey for putting the trip together, and for giving me the opportunity to get away for about 36 hours to unwind.
My prayer is that God will bless and keep each of you, thanks for stopping by. God bless!
