Housing Allowance for Ministers and Religious Workers

It is now October 2012.  Of course you didn't need me to remind you of that little tidbit of information, but BECAUSE it IS October, it is time to consider setting/revising your Housing Allowance for all ministers.

Often, there are changes in your cost for housing, whether you live in a parsonage or rent, or own your own home.

I would suggest you check out the many resources available both online and at your local bookstore to be sure you are in compliance with IRS regulations.

Always AVOID these type decisions based on facts and not fiction.

SPECIAL NOTE:

The minister's housing allowance is not retroactive, and MUST be set in advance.  That's why it is good to think about it NOW.

Be sure to have the housing allowance set in writing and maintain a copy in your personal records.

Death Notice - Clara McMahan

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
