passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Funeral services for Mrs. Spears will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM from Lakeside Church of God of Prophecy with  Bro. Leon Graves, Bro. Ronnie Spears and Bro. Mike Creasy officiating.

Interment will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Graves, Stacey Graves, Scott Graves, Josh Graves, Spence Creasy and Chad Fields.  Honorary pallbearers will be be Angela Spears, Tyler Graves, Caleigh Graves, Taylor Graves, Alec Creasy and Connor Graves.

Visitation will be:  Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Woodard Funeral Home and Friday, March 15, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Woodard Funeral Home and Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakeside Church of God of Prophecy.


She was preceded in death by: Father - Jesse Andrews, Mother - Zelma Key Andrews, Daughter - Linda Meador, Brother - Wilfred Andrew, Brother - Herman Lee Andrews. She is survived by: Husband of nearly 70 years- Odie Spears, Westmoreland, TN; Daughter - Faye & (Leon) Graves, Westmoreland, TN; Daughter - Edith & (Gerald) Graves, Bethpage, TN; Daughter - Joyce & (Mike) Creasy, Murfreesboro, TN; Son - Ronnie & (Kathy) Spears, Murfreesboro, TN; Grand Child - Jeff Graves; Grand Child - Stacey Graves; Grand Child - Scott Graves; Grand Child - Josh Graves; Grand Child - Spence Creasy; Grand Child - Angela Spears; Ten Great-Grandchildren; Spiritual Grand Child - Lashell Spears; Sister - Aline & (Willard) Stephens, Westmoreland, TN; Sister - Elva Mae & (Billy) Frye, Westmoreland, TN.

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. Lee University News Article: Dr. David Horton Dies Suddenly on Choir Tour: Funeral is Saturday Funeral services for Dr. David Horton have been scheduled for Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the North Cleveland Church of God. The family will receive visitors Friday at Rush Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Dr. David Horton, a veteran member of the Lee University music faculty, died suddenly Monday evening following an apparent heart attack. Horton was in Nassau, Bahamas, on the first day of a post-commencement ministry tour with Campus Choir when he was stricken. His wife Virginia was with him as they returned to their hotel following dinner when he suddenly collapsed and was rushed to a hospital. "We are all stunned and deeply saddened by this unexpected loss," said president Dr. Paul Conn.
