Happy Memorial Day

Each year, the United States celebrates Memorial Day to remember those who have served our nation in the military services. Throughout our churches in Tennessee and beyond, are men and women who chose an act of service that took them away from family and friends.

No war is ever popular, and indeed I don't believe it should be. However, the enemies of freedom and self-determination seem to arise in in every generation and must be dealt with by resolute people who are determined to live out their lives in peace, and if must be possessing that peace by strength.

I take this opportunity to thank all of our service men and women, and those who serve as first responders to the cry of liberty. We also remember those who gave their lives on the field of battle, some who never made it home, not just those who died in conflict, but those who are still Mission in Action. We must never forget! On this day we thank you, we celebrate you and we honor you.

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Death Notice - Clara McMahan

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
