Death Notice - Ida Stinson

Dear Friends,

I just learned a few moments ago that Sis. Ida Stinson, a long time and senior member of the Bellshire Church, passed away yesterday at the age of 95. Sis. Stinson has been struggling with poor health and the effects of aging for some time now.

I had the privilege of meeting her at her son's home one afternoon with Dwayne and Sterlene. Her son has been her caregiver some years now and has endured, with the grace of God, seeing his mother in such a frail state.

The viewing will be this evening from 6:00 – 8:00 at the Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue , Gallatin , TN 37066 . The funeral will be held tomorrow at 3:00 at the funeral home.

I want to thank Dwayne and Sterlene, especially Sterlene, for the love they have shown the Stinson family during this difficult time.

Will you please join me in prayer for the Stinson family as they morn the loss of a great Saint of God.

I am asking that Bro. McKinley post this announcement on the State web site.

May the Lord bless each of you.

In His Service,
Shannon

Come Down From That Ivory Tower

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He
