Day Ten of Seeking

As the Fire of God's Presence saturates our lives, we begin to recognize the small changes that will take place. At first it is the thought or realization that something wrong needs to be made right.

When we experience of God's Presence in our lives, the more we will want to know about Him. There will be a sudden thirst for His Word and for knowledge about His ways. We will want to please Him, so we MUST know what He want sin our life. This thirst is satisfied when we begin to read His Word and hide it in our hearts (Psalm 199:11) so that we will not sin against Him.

There will be a desire to be around His people. We live in a day when commitment seems to be a thing of the past. People changes relationships on a regular basis, whether in their marriage, their employment or their church. They are looking for something to satisfy, but the only thing that will satisfy them is to be in the company of committed, dedicated followers of God. (Hebrews 10:25)

We will want to know about His ways, so we will begin to look for mentors to help cultivate the experience we've just had and we will want someone to speak the truth to us.

By understanding these basic facts we begin to renew our mind (Ephesians 4:23) as we submit our lives to His will. On Day Ten of seeking, we ask God to help us with commitment. We ask Him to help us to have clear thoughts, and we ask for His Word to come alive in our lives.

Come Down From That Ivory Tower

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He...

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.
