As many of you know, Debra has been in Kentucky this weekend to be with her mother who is recovering from surgery. I miss having her with me, and am getting a little tired of cooking...you know, McDonalds, O'Charley's, etc,. I will be traveling to Kentucky tomorrow to pick her up and bring her back home so she can get me back on my diet.
This morning, I traveled to the Jackson church where I ministered in the morning service. It was a beautiful day to drive and the weather was good until almost home when I ran into a little rain.
Tomorrow, we will honor those who gave their lives in the service of our nation. This holiday will be marked by barbecue's, picnics, parties, etc., however we must never forget the reason for the day. This holiday began with remembering the soldiers of the War between the States (1861-1865), but after World War I, the holiday was mean to include those giving the ultimate sacrifice of every war...that means all the way up to today, when we have troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, along with being in harms way in the other nations, we need to remember.
Our prayers are with the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, as well as all of the first responders...police, fire, EMT, and the list could go on.
I am so thankful to have been born in the United States, and to have had the opportunity to serve my country during a time of conflict. May God bless all of you.
