Happy Thanksgiving

On the chance that some of you are like me, and you can't stay away from your computer very long...

I wish for you to have a wonderful, joyous, Christ-filled Thanksgiving today. As you spend time with family and friends, please remember to take the time to tell them how much you love and appreciate them.

This morning, my heart was filled with sadness when I thought about my own mother and father, who have gone on to be with the Lord, and I was saddened that we are not sharing a Thanksgiving meal together today, however, I know that "Christians never see each other for the last time."

The truth is, that I didn't stay sad too long, because I heard my granddaughter downstairs calling out, and the sadness was chased away by the joy of being with my family today. God certainly is GOOD to me.

We have much to be thankful for, but mostly its not the "things" but rather the "people" around us. Family, friends and acquaintances make such time so special.

Finally, let us not forget our soldiers deployed today, their families and all of the "first responders" (police, firefighters, medical personnel) who are serving us so that we can enjoy freedom! May God bless you, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Death Notice - Clara McMahan

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
