The House of Prayer


Today, I've included a picture taken from Eastville, Virginia. I obtained this photo some-months-back when I was preaching at a local church in Maryland. The photo to me is self-explanatory.

It is the photo of a church, that has been grown up with weeds and is literally falling in. This photo could be representative of the individual believer's life or that of a local church. Jesus said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer." (Luke 19:46)

When we allow our lives to be taken up in the cares of life, we stop praying and the cares grow up like weeds to take over our house which will lead to its collapse. Are you struggling in your personal life? Is your local church struggling? Perhaps the answer is as simple as prayer!

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

Death Notice - Clara McMahan

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
