Now before you say it, I know this might be an awkward subject, but I do believe for our own spiritual well-being, it is a question we should ask.
I was fascinated by an article I read in my morning devotion time today. I would like to share it with you. CLICK HERE to go to the article at Leadership Journal's website (taken from Christianity Today).
I have to admit, that since my trip out of the United States last month to the Ukraine, I have been asking myself some soul-searching questions. My mother used to say, "ask God to allow you to see yourself through His eyes," and after all of these years, I have began to today...I'm not really happy with everything I see in my own personal walk with Christ.
There is so much more I can do, and in fact, I probably need an attitude adjustment. The Christians in Kiev, Ukraine affected me more than I could have imagined...they demonstrated a faith that has humbled me. To realize that I was standing in a church, that was built on the ruins of communist persecution was probably what started all of this. In that very spot, pastors were murdered for their faith, and I found myself standing there feeling a bit broken. I have not been able to shake the feeling that came over me...was it conviction? Probably so.
I think that I came to the realization that so much of what troubles, worries and stresses us out is probably not all that important...the squabbles among Christians that takes so much of our time only keeps us from our Divine Purpose....reaching the lost and discipling them into a vibrant relationship with Christ.
Maybe you didn't come here today to hear such a heavy message, but I must admit it comes from a heavy heart...one that is longing for personal revival, and one that is longing for corporate revival among our churches in North America.
I know that God wants to bring revival...I know He is able to bring revival...perhaps He is just waiting for us to be the Christians that will pay the price to bring it.
I am praying for all of you to have a 'move' of God in your church, and I am praying for one in my life too! God bless.
