What do you believe?

During my morning devotions today, I pursued my normal routine. It not only deals with reading/studying the particular subject I am on at the time (right now I am studying the New Testament Book of John) and a quick look at the day's news.

One of the elements of John's Gospel is how much we read about what our faith is based on. When leading someone to Christ, I will suggest they start reading their Bible in the Book of John, and note how many times they find the words, "believe, believing or believed" and not how important faith is.

I found the following facts in my email inbox from one of the greatest apologists of our time, Josh McDowell and it gave me pause:

63% of our churched youth don't believe Jesus is the Son of the one true God.
58% believe all faiths teach equally valid truths.
68% don't believe the Holy Spirit is a real entity.
70% don't believe an absolute moral truth exists.

I am convinced that Jesus is the Son of the true God, and that He is the ONLY way to heaven. I am convinced that the Gospel is our "true road map to heaven" and I believe in the Holy Spirit's operation in the world today. And finally I DO believe there is absolute moral truth.

In a culture that is self-absorbed and filled with moral relativism play out in situational ethics, I am convinced that our need to proclaim the pure, unadulterated Gospel is the most important thing we can do.

I believe! Do you?

To me, one of the most vital areas that the devil attacks is belief and faith in Christ. Jesus said, (in John 6:29)"This is the work of God, that ye believe in him (Jesus)whom he (the Father) hath sent." He said this to a group of people who were looking for him as a great teacher or rabbi. Christ's main goal for coming was to have people "believe" in Him as the Son of God - Perfect Sacrifice. Not to make him an earthly King, or great rabbi. I BELIEVE IN HIM!

Question? Did you mean note instead of not when you mentioned looking for believe and faith in John? I think that was a typo.

This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.
