Praise Report - Pine Grove

Great things are happening at Pine Grove. God has been blessing our church in many different ways these last few months. 4 Victory was in concert at Pine Grove on August 20. What a wonderful time of worship.

On September 30, 2006 Pine Grove celebrated Friends and Neighbor Day. We had approximately 325 in attendance. This day was designed for the Pine Grove neighborhood. We had a representative from the sheriffs department discussing the neighborhood watch program. Fun was had by all in attendance.

We have just completed a flooring project in our fellowship hall where we installed ceramic tile.

We had revival October 15-18 with our local ministers. Brother Charlie Erickson, Brother Jimmy Bivens and Pastor Rice were our evangelists for those nights.

Our senior ladies took a trip on our new church van to Muddy Pond for sorghum and to the Russell Stover Candy store. A fun time was had by all.

We recently honored one of our Sunday school teachers for her many years of teaching our children’s class. Sister Geneva Bowman was honored as each one of our children entered the sanctuary presenting her with an apple. What a blessing she has been to our children.

Pine Grove has been busy but God has truly been blessing us for our work in our services. We praise His holy name.

Hebrews 11 has become known as the "Hall of Faith." The reason is quite simple. The writer spends a great deal of time giving a role call of the heroes of the faith. After all, this chapter is about faith, and what better way to teach faith than to illustrate with some real-life examples. Mos of the people in this chapter are well-known, at least by anyone who spent time squirming in a Sunday School class as a small child, or who watched the late-night movies on the local channels featuring their stories. Who were they? Abel, Enoch and Noah. Abel pleased God with his excellent offering, Enoch was so close to God that he actually walked with God to the point that one evening, while walking God said to Enoch, "we are closer to my house than we are yours, so why don't you just go home with me?" Of course, Noah built an ark (according to God's instructions) that saved mankind from total destruction. Then there was Abraham...the father of the faithful. He...

Prayer Request

Yesterday and today have been filled with non-stop preparations and meetings for the General Assembly. The State/National Overseers will be traveling to begin meeting this week in Nashville. Will you please join me in prayer for travel mercies for all of those on their way to Nashville? Also, Sister Wilma Massengale is still in Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. This precious lady and her family need our prayer support, and I hope you will join me in prayer for them, believing the Lord is able to meet their need.

I AM SHARING A NOTICE I JUST RECEIVED FROM PASTOR TERRY BARNWELL (KNOXVILLE- ARROWHEAD) Hi Brother; I pray your day is going along well. I wanted to let you know of the passing of Sister Clara McMahan this morning. Her husband Claude has served as deacon for over 52 years at the Arrowhead church. This wonderful lady has touched thousands of lives across Tennessee. She is the sister of Charlie Weaver. The day you and Sister McKinley were with us on the Home Coming Sunday if you remember the youth presented this couple with a light house they had built for them. Sister Clara will be greatly missed greatly. I will let you know the arrangements when I get them if you wished to attend the services. If your schedule will not permit I understand, but I just wanted you to know. Love you and have a blessed day; Bro. Terry
